The French-Mexican Campus emerges as an official agreement between the Presidents of Mexico and France in 2008. In 2009 educational experts carried out some educational trips to France in order to work on the concept of what the Campus is today, being in the middle 2010 when the signing of the collaboration agreement took place, institutions such as the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), the Ministry of National Education of France (MEF), the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), the Directorate General of CONALEP as well as representatives of Grupo SAFRAN and Airbus Helicopters companies participated.

Strategic Alliance

The French-Mexican Campus is a strategic alliance, between UNAQ and the College of Technical Professional Education of the State of Querétaro (CONALEP BICENTENARIO AERONÁUTICO - QUERÉTARO) with the purpose of educating, training and developing Technical Professional Bachelor (PTB) Advanced Technician Degree (TSU) in Aeronautics with a level of competencies comparable to those established by international civil aviation organizations, with the financial, technical or pedagogical support of the Mexican and French governments, companies and aeronautical authorities as well as entities that support the achievement of Campus objectives.

Objective

Since its foundation, UNAQ has contributed to the development and consolidation of the aerospace industry by training the professionals and researchers that the aeronautical sector requires. UNAQ has as a major competitive advantage the consolidation of the French-Mexican Campus which aims to benefit all students of the institution by complementing their educational activities with the relevant competencies so that, upon graduation, they will have successful professional growth in the productive sector.

Building

The French-Mexican Campus construction began in December 2012, considering within the first stage the construction of the main building, as well as the fitting out of ten laboratories, eight workshops, two warehouses, a documentation area and an intervention area; all of this in more than 4,600 m2 of construction. At the end of 2013, in addition to concluding the main building, 50% progress was made in the equipment. In 2014, the equipping of laboratories and workshops was completed, also the construction of the hangar began with more than 5,000 m2 and the capacity to house up to four aircraft, carrying out maintenance practices.² de construcción. Teacher training

At the end of 2013, the trip of fifteen professors in the specialties of avionics, maintenance and manufacturing was completed. They were immersed for six weeks at French institutions certified by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) in order to transfer the necessary educational technology to the French-Mexican Campus.
